Good day to you, Maple. It has been a long time since our paths crossed. I do hope you are growing prosperous and successful in the lands of New Zealand. Things have gone through many a change while you were absent from our presence. It was as if even the sun seems less brighter than it used to be.
Back in the Chen Lao Shi Concentration Camp, classes grow ever so quiet, and the drag of the exercising drills become more pronounced, even more so than they already are. We've all noticed your absence, more than we notice Nicky, Arthur, or Soon Lin gone. They all were nice people, but the reason why you were missed most is because you were exceptionally loud.
Now, this isn't something to worry about. This feature of yours never failed to cheer me up whenever I needed such. It never failed to send Commander Chen to the depths of craze whenever she heard your obliviating laugh. It never fails to brighten up our class.
Now, there isn't anyone for me to write secret Elvish letters to, there isn't anyone to ignore and hear them go - "God, Shawn are you still ignoring me? Geeze fine then." and moments later you turn back to see me standing there with my finger out, about to poke you. And then, funnily enough, you just stand there, as if dumbstruck and confused, "What on earth is this guy doing?"
So i poke you and you scream and Commander Chen shouts "Ling Hong Tze! Wu Fung! Ni men Kam mA!"
All of this now is lost, gone together with you halfway to the New lands of your own new fort, but somewhat lost halfway in the vast oceans.
I was just poking through your FB Archives a while back, and looking once more at you in your pictures brings back a feeling that lies somewhere between a sunshine brighter and a very empty, lost feeling.
There was one group of photos, in the XO's album which shows you in dark green suit armor (obviously a new one for your fort, am i right?) apparently dancing around in a crazy fashion while one of your friends clicks the button. It was something one fine Maple would do with her friends; molest a camera in a most astonishing way.
Well, my off-hour duties still have much to be completed, added to the assignments given by Commander Chen for crying over you in her Drills. Okay THAT was a joke. There's much to do, and less sunshine in my life to do them.
Its just a small tribute to you.
Forever love,
The Padfutonian.
